Bring your Splitwise history to Splitnor.
Export a group from Splitwise, upload the file to Splitnor, and match each name to a person. Every expense and payment comes across, so balances pick up exactly where they left off.
3 steps, a few minutes
How importing works
- Export from Splitwise. Open the group in Splitwise and export it as a spreadsheet (CSV).
- Upload to Splitnor. In the app go to Account → Import from Splitwise, choose the file, and pick an existing group or create a new one.
- Match the names. Link each Splitwise name to a group member or friend — or add them by email. Then import.
✓ What comes across
Your balances, not a fresh start.
Imported
- Every expense — description, amount, date and category
- Who paid, and how each expense was split
- Payments recorded between people
- The original currency of each expense
- The people in the group, matched to Splitnor accounts
Good to know
- Import one group at a time — repeat for each group you want to bring.
- Notes, comments and receipt photos from Splitwise aren't imported.
- Friends who don't use Splitnor yet can be added by email; they'll get one invite.
- The CSV file is read once and isn't stored.
- Splitnor shows amounts with your chosen currency symbol and doesn't convert between currencies.

Switching, answered.
Does everyone in my group need to switch?
No. When you match names, you can link people who already use Splitnor or add the others by email. Their share of the history comes across either way, and they can join whenever they like.
Can I import more than one group?
Yes — one at a time. Export each Splitwise group and import it into its own Splitnor group.
Will my balances match Splitwise?
They should. Splitnor imports every expense and payment with who paid and how it was split, then calculates balances from them. If something looks off, check the import summary for rows that needed review.
Can I import into a group that already exists?
Yes. Choose the existing group during import, or create a new one.
Is my Splitwise file kept?
No. Splitnor reads the file to create your expenses and payments and doesn't store it. See our privacy policy.
